So, I asked the question of when did you meet to my dad:
In 1955 he played on a basketball team with the likes of Sonny Robbins. According to my dad, they were a pretty darn good team. They were an 'independent team' and played in YMCA leagues and the like.
His coach, (I will add his name later) (3/9/22: I found my notes, his coach was Chuck Green) and the sponsor of the basketball team, he invited the whole team (which was called the Mohawks) to his nieces birthday party in Woburn, Mass. ( I will add the girls name in later, it is quite an interesting story)
At this party being thrown for a Green Street girl, was my mom and her twin. They were friends with the Green Street Girl. My dad asked mom if she would like to go out sometime and told her he would call her. I do not have her name, but she lived on Green Street and was a friend of Roseanne's and Rose and her sister Mary Lou were at the party. The basketball team was a YMCA league. Grant asked Rose that night if she wanted to go out. she told him, 'I'll call you" ..
That is all i Could get out of him today on that subject. He is still not feeling good, he is on maintenance chemo and has had a rash reaction to it, but the doctor does not seem concerned. He doesn't like the Cancer Doctor he is seeing right now. I think she is fine, and I have no problem with her, but she is not my doctor and I think it is time to explore another doctor.
He also talked about selling the house, maybe selling it to someone and being able to live there .... I have to look into that.
I am having a trying day...
that is all for now

I wish I had followed this up. selling the house that is. I wish I had followed this up. it just saddens me when I read this. Grant (dad) went off the chemo pills and eventually I had to fire the doctor. I will find the dates and put them in ... but it was a checkup with Dr. Tungson at Lahey, she was his cancer doctor. Grant had a visit with his primary doctor who had an x-ray done of his leg and ankle the primary doctor told him it did not look right and had him make an appointment with his cancer doctor. we did.
we brought in the xrays (on a cd) with us and the cancer doctor (tunkson) came in with four interns. Lahey is a teaching hospital. she told my dad there was nothing wrong with him and the type of cancer he had did not go out to the extremities / or limbs. i asked her to review the x rays, she tossed the cd onto the counter and said she did not need to look at the xrays, she read the radiologist report and did not feel it was anything. I was shocked ... i put my head in my hands as she threatened to put him in the hospital if he was in that much pain. i waited for the bitch to leave with her minions and told my dad to say good bye to the girls at the desk because he was never coming back here. took him to Dana Farber in Boston. they kept my dad alive. I truly believe he would have passed away within a month of that last visit to Lahey.
